After a short break, Fascination80s relaunched in June just in time for its first birthday! We had a new (and much nicer) venue at UBQ (in the very cool inner suburb of Fitzroy), a new night (Friday instead of Saturday) and new DJs! And what a night it was!
We kicked off at 9pm, but by around 10pm the dancing had already started and the place was filling up. It probably would have been fuller if it wasn’t for the massive (and very misleading) queue outside. The queue the forms outside UBQ is actually for the venue next door – they very kindly leave a gap at the UBQ door so you can walk right in and get into the music.
The DJs played exactly what the night said on the label – plenty of UK 80s synthpop, new wave and alternative bangers and the dancing never stopped until the bar told us to! The best thing about the music we play is it brings in a crowd of the loveliest people. We couldn’t be happier with the turnout.
